A Warm Welcome From
Hannah Stevens and Hannah Crewdson
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the St Francis Church of England Primary School website. We hope it offers a glimpse into the heart of our school family — a place where every child and adult is known, cared for and valued. St Francis is a vibrant, nurturing community, and we are deeply proud of all that we achieve together. Our vision — every person matters, every person helps, every person succeeds — guides all that we do, helping each of us to live “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). Even as a large school, we remain committed to creating a warm, family-centred environment where children feel secure, supported, and able to flourish.
As a Church school, our core Christian values of Courage, Peace, Thankfulness, Trust, Friendship and Hope are woven through daily life. Alongside these, our positive behaviour culture runs as a golden thread throughout school. We teach and celebrate being ready, respectful and safe, and we recognise all who make positive choices. Relationships sit at the heart of everything we do — shaping how we learn, how we grow, and how we care for one another. These values work hand-in-hand with the Trust’s philosophy of work hard, be honest & help others, ensuring our children develop strong character as well as strong learning habits.
Our curriculum is enriched with a wide range of visits, visitors and hands-on experiences that build children’s curiosity, confidence and cultural capital. During their time with us, children may den-build, explore heritage sites, rock-pool, experience water sports, camp overnight, go underground into a mine, challenge themselves on an adventure residential, visit the theatre, travel to a city beyond Cornwall, explore the Science Museum, visit a University, and so much more. These experiences provide joyful, memorable learning and help children recognise the breadth of opportunities open to them. We want every child to leave St Francis believing not only that they can achieve — but that the world is full of possibility.
Our website offers only a small snapshot of life at St Francis. We would love to welcome you in person so you can experience our school community for yourself.
If you would like to visit, or have any questions, please contact our school office team on 01326 211910 or email stfrancis@kernowlearning.co.uk.
