SEND Provision at St Francis School

Due to the current UK situation regarding the Coronavirus, we understand that some families/children’s lives will change and new challenges may arise. Please follow the below link for useful information and advice, for supporting SEN children during the Coronavirus.
At St Francis, we believe that every child is unique and has individual needs.

St Francis is an inclusive school and welcomes all children. We have a dedicated staff who are trained to personalise learning in order to meet the needs of all children in our care. At times, children may require additional support, either short or long term, to make progress and fulfil their potential.

Examples of support we offer may include:

>Reading, writing or mathematics interventions

>Social, emotional or behaviour programmes

>Visual, speech and language, hearing or mobility support
Full information on how we support children with SEN in each subject can be found on our subject pages.

All children with special educational needs have individual targets recorded on an individualised provision map (IPM). Parents, and pupils (where appropriate), will be invited to termly meetings to review progress against their targets and will be involved in setting new targets for the term ahead.

Parents are welcome to make an appointment via the school office to meet with the class teacher or SENCO at any time to discuss pupil progress or how to best support their child at home. The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is Mrs Rachel Marsh.
