Term Dates 2025 - 2026

The school day begins at 8:45am. We expect all children to be in school for registration at this time with the register being taken at 8:50am. Children in all Year Groups finish at 3:15pm. This totals a learning time of 32.5 hours a week. 

Break and Lunch Times

Break time is from 10:30am to 10:45am

We stagger lunch times in order to maximise the use of all outside spaces

YF, Y1 and Y2 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Y3,Y4,Y5 and Y6 12:15pm - 1:15pm

At St Francis, our vision is clear.  Every person matters, every person helps, and every person succeeds. This ethos runs through everything we do, including our extra-curricular offer.
 
We provide a wide range of clubs and activities, giving children opportunities to learn new skills, discover passions, and grow in confidence. Our clubs rotate termly and include exciting options such as:

• Lego
• Minecraft
• Choir
• Running
• Football

 
What makes our approach unique is that children help shape the offer.  Each term, pupils are encouraged to put forward their own ideas for clubs, ensuring that everyone has a voice and feels valued.
 
The vast majority of our clubs are free of charge, as they are run by our dedicated staff. Information is sent home at the start of each term so you can book your child’s place.

St Francis Breakfast and After School Club is designed to support families in the St Francis school community. The main aim being to give working parents the assurance that their child will be cared for to the same quality standards and in the same ethos that the school offers.

All staff are employees of the school who receive regular training. The club is run under the leadership of the Head Teacher of the school who has the responsibility for monitoring quality standards.

The Breakfast Club is accommodated in the school hall where the children are offered a healthy breakfast snack and a drink. The After School Club is accommodated in the new build and the children have access to the top playground area. 
 
The Breakfast Club will run from 8am until 8.45am from Monday to Friday during term time. The After School Club will run from 3.15pm to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday during term time.  (It will finish at 4.30pm on a Friday from January 2026). Both clubs will be closed during school holidays and for 5 days each year to provide staff training and development (INSET days).

The children have the opportunity to engage in a range of exciting activities both indoors and out of doors.

The prices are:

Breakfast Club

• Free (our school is currently accessing funding to cover the costs of breakfast club)

After School Club

• £4.00 per child (for the time period 3.15pm - 4.30pm)
• £4.00 per child (for the time period 4.15pm - 5.30pm)
• £7.00 per child (for the time period 3.15pm - 5.30pm)

 
There is a 10% reduction for siblings.

To book a place for your child, please use your My Ed app.  You will find wrap around care booking options within the payments area.  We also accept payment via childcare vouchers for Edenred, Sedexo and Kiddivouchers. Please inform the office if you use another childcare voucher that we have not listed.
